Sabal Parking Lot Solar Canopy
The Sabal Solar Canopy is a new and unique commercial energy production system co-developed by APS Bahamas. It is the first standard product solar system designed to withstand 200 mph/320 kmh wind speeds, while still affording superior economics and visual appeal. Conceived and designed in the Bahamas, it is built and assembled in the United States by Graystone Gear LLC specifically for the Caribbean market.
An additional innovation is its low real estate footprint and the rapid installation time, saving our clients the hassle of extended construction times . The Sabal Canopy is shipped fully assembled to the site. APS Bahamas installers simply mount the fully prepared posts, connect the Container which contains the entire solar system, and string the suspension. Once post foundations have been poured, the APS installation team can install one canopy in four hours.
The Sabal Canopy offers a 20-year levelized cost of energy (known as LCoE) of $0.18/kwh due to its single axis tracking mechanism and the superior performance of its unique light weight solar panels.
While it is specifically designed for large commercial parking lots, utilizing existing built space for a dual purpose of energy production, it also has a flexible architecture in that it can be used for wind-prone ground mount or even as a portable, trailer-mounted system for special occasions and events.
The standard system produces 25kW-30kW of electricity in a 480v 30A configuration. 10 to 15 such systems produce enough power for a typical resort-style hotel, club, or small shopping center; 40 to 60 systems would power an entire airport.
APS Bahamas offers competitively priced solar energy to credit-worthy customers at $0 down, 15 to 20 year leasing contract including all required maintenance. Conversely, customers may wish to purchase it directly to enjoy even lower energy costs.
The Sabal Solar Canopy is patent pending under USPTO 18/767,107.
